Scobee
was one of the top kickers in the league before injuring his
quadricep in the season opener last year. I like the
Jaguars D to win field position and the Jaguars offense to
sputter just enough to give Scobee a lot of chances. Grab
him late, you'll be happy you did.

Cleveland
's improved offense helped
Dawson
jump to ninth last year in scoring among kickers and he will be
there again if the Browns continue to score. The biggest problem
might be paying in
Cleveland
, which invariably leads to a few very bad-weather games late in
the season. So with my second kicker, I could use a warm-weather
or dome kicker.

Every team should
have at least one homer pick. A player you can root for if
for no other reason than he plays for your favorite team.
It has been a long time since Hanson has been an elite kicker
but he has two things going for him besides the fact that he is
a Lion. One, he plays in a dome in over half of his games.
Two, the change in offense should mean more FG opportunities.
At least that's my story and I am definitely sticking to it.

As
a Steelers fan, I have some concerns about their ability to
finish drives. The offensive line remains a concern, and
I've frequently seen this team get close and have to settle for
field goals in the last two years.
Bad for them, good for my squad. Reed has mastered (as
much as you can) the swirling winds at Heinz Field. Other
kickers struggle there, but he is consistent. Mike
Tomlin has confidence in him, and while he'll rarely get
opportunities for long kicks, he should get plenty of chances
when the Steelers offense stalls.

I’m feeling better now about that
trade a couple of rounds back. If I had not moved up three spots
to select Nate Kaeding (and if Kaeding had been selected before
16.05), the Seahawks would have been my choice at 16.05. Nice
pass rush. The No. 8 defense on my draft board.

We
don't value *any* kickers highly in fantasy football.
We've lived by that adage as long as we've been involved in
drafting, and we've never regretted it for an instant. So
here we are, in the 18th round, and we finally decide to grab
our first kicker.
Shaun Suisham isn't one of the 'stud' kickers on your draft
lists (heck, we highly doubt whether there even IS such a
thing), but he's the kind of kicker we like. Namely he
plays for a team that seems able to move the ball fairly well,
but seems to struggle at times near the goal line. That
should mean plenty of FG attempts for Mr. Suisham. He
scored 11th best among kickers under this scoring system last
year, and 13th best in the NFL. In this format, 2
middle-of-the-road kickers will fare just as well as any of the
big name kickers that you would have had to grab 4 rounds
earlier.

Booker comes back to
Chicago
where he earned a decent payday from the Dolphins. Realistically
Booker has only had a couple of decent seasons, but he is
slotted to start at this point, and with this best ball format I
am hoping to capture points from one of the Bears receivers.
Someone has to pick up the slack that is left from Berrian.

Given

here.

Again,
a tremendous risk/reward pick. If Toomer retains his WR2 status

high.

With
Joseph Addai on my roster as my #1
pick, I felt it wise to grab the guy behind him that is most
likely to fill in for Addai if he
goes down. Regardless, he’ll be used somewhat often to keep Addai
fresh and makes a decent 18th round selection to cover for Addai.
Opportunities exist in this offense for everyone.

One
defense is never enough. Even if my Chargers are league leaders,
a best-ball roster requires a solid backup for the weeks when
production is slight. My thought on the Packers is that they
will be defending quite a lot in 2008. Their player quality is
mostly good and that combination should be productive for FF
owners. If they were a top-10 DT, I'd not be at all
surprised.

Waiting
so long to take our kicker, we were pleased to get a solid
veteran on a good offense. While he had a sub par year in
2007 with only 102 NFL points and 118 FAD points, we like
his chances of a solid rebound season as the Eagles are poised
to improve upon last year's effort. With McNabb and red-zone
target L.J. Smith on board, we know that our FAD team is likely
to score some solid points every time Philly gets inside the 25-yard
line in 2008.
